Manish Tripathi is carving new paths with his illustrious achievements. Owing to his extensive knowledge and sharp acumen for fashion textiles, he has successfully established himself as the national advisor to the Ministry of Textiles for India Handloom Brand.

Tripathi has designed apparels for popular names in film industry, sports celebrities, bureaucrats, diplomats, events such as Cannes, and political stalwarts. Committed towards the cause of social upliftment of the handloom and handicraft industry of India, he has been working with weavers community to revive the hand weaved fabrics.
His works in few lines
Presently he is running his menswear brand “AntarDESI” and women’s wear “Naveli”. He and his team co-creates Indian theme and design as per the speciality, look and occasion for the clients. Also, he is working with corporate companies like Patanjali. He worked in IPL few years ago. He works closely with the weavers and he enjoys working with them.
Common connection while working on several things
His works are function oriented. People come to him for solutions. His designs and creations are not imposed on the clients. He genuinely tries to understand what the requirement of the client is after meeting with them. He looks at what occasion the client wants their ensemble for, their budget, choice etc. Then by assessing his/her personality he advises and provides services. He also designs office wears which pulls off simplicity with class. He enjoys solving his clients issues.
The decision which brought him to what he’s doing now
He was always inclined towards creative domain. Always wanted to do something which has creativity in it. When he was in standard 8th, 1999, he came to realize that he can move forward in the fashion industry. He decided to step in it, got to know about National Institute of Fashion Technology and National Institute of Design. During studies, he came to know that the things he was designing and creating since childhood, are valued by people in the market. For him, designing is a solution. Designing is not about imposing what we want to do, it is more about understanding what we want and then doing that.
What he thinks about his achievements
He thinks he achieved his goals till 10% and he believes he has a long way to go. According to him, success and ambition doesn’t have to be drafted in one image, it has to be dynamic. We keep changing on our goals and later we come to know our ultimate goal which encourages us to achieve it.
His design aesthetic
My aesthetic is contemporary designs on traditional silhouettes. It is experimental yet classic and aims at creating something for everyone.
His background story in few lines
He is from Lucknow. He was high on Bollywood and passionate about designs since childhood. He had an immense support from his family and friends. He thinks he wouldn’t reach the place without their support where he is standing now.
The change he is driving towards
In his words, “It is challenging sometimes to justify International designs with Indian aesthetics but it’s all the more rewarding and appreciated when you are able to pull off something like that, which is why personally they are my favorite projects to work on. We try to revive the Indian handloom in whatever way we can, especially crafts that are on the verge of extinction. We bring various clusters to the limelight and try to create a demand for it in the market.”
His efforts towards the Social Upliftment of weavers clusters and handloom textiles
Besides the initiative from the Ministry of Textiles for India Handloom Brand, he tries to source fabrics from the weavers community and serve it an audience that will not just appreciate the collection but also value as it deserves. He also tries to source fabrics from NGOs and other such organisations that are working for the upliftment of the weaver clusters.
Achievements till date
He ventured into the Bollywood circuit for the first time by designing clothes and styling the stars of the 2012 movie ‘Life Ki Toh Lag Gayi’. In 2015, He designed and styled the artists of K.C. Bokadia’s movie “Dirty Politics”. He worked with Bollywood celebs like Mallika Sherawat, Jackie Shroff, Ashutosh Rana, Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Rajpal Yadav, Sushant Singh, Atul Kulkarni, and Ranvir Shorey. He is also known for dressing up the political figures like Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, Rajeev Shukla, Anurag Thakur and Shivpal Yadav.

His dream clients in Bollywood are indisputably Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. He wishes in Politics ,he will be able to fulfill his dream by designing for the nation’s most popular leader Shri Narendra Modi ji.
His teammates and supports till date
He thinks it would be injustice to point out some names who supported him in his journey, because he had most of the supports whenever and wherever he needed. He thanks to his college friends who were with him during his struggle times.
He owes his success to his knowledge, hard work and support from family and friends
He had always been fascinated by fashion, which led him to create something new and unique. He was clear about his vision, and knew his strengths since his college days. He believed in his knowledge about fashion textile. The hard work and support of family and friends encouraged him and finally he is that stage where he always wanted to be.
Challenges to craft modern globally relevant design with handloom

The biggest change in the Indian fashion industry according to him
Indian fashion industry is relatively fresh and he thinks the introduction of Fashion Weeks has been one of the greatest moments. Besides that the recent interest and growth of handloom in the mainstream fashion has been one of the best things that has happened.
How the fusion of Indian and western silhouettes are influencing today’s designing
Amalgamation of the two has always been interesting and the contemporary designs we see on ramp are a fine example of the same. Today people, both designers and consumers, are willing to be experimental with their style. This gives designers the flexibility and scope to keep trying new ways to find the right concoction of Indian and western silhouettes.

His future plans
He is focused on taking fashion to all the nooks and corners of the country. It would be fair to say India is quite young in the International fashion market and the availability of fashion is limited. His aim is to bring fashion to the streets where it belongs—and not just in the metropolitans but also tier-two and tier-three cities. We are launching an online fashion portal
