राष्ट्रीय डिजाइन नीति निकट भविष्य में भारत को डिजाइन श्रोत सेंटर बनाने की इच्छा रखती है। इसने प्रेरणा देने, उद्द्योग चलाने और उसी के लिए क्षमता निर्माण की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है। वांछित आकार लेने के लिए जागरूकता लाने और रास्ता बनाने में कई पहल महत्वपूर्ण साबित हुई हैं।

गुणवत्ता डिजाइन शिक्षा की दिशा में काम करना इसका एक मुख्य उद्देश्य है। और DAD- डिजाइन जागरूकता अभियान, राष्ट्रीय डिजाइन नीति, भारत सरकार द्वारा नियोजित मिशन के निष्पादन की दिशा में काम करने के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार है।

शिक्षा हमेशा समाज के दो वर्गों द्वारा संचालित की गई है। एक व्यवसाय समूह से संबंधित है, जिन्होंने सिस्टम के प्रत्येक इकाई और टुकड़ों को बेचने में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ी है। और दूसरा उन लोगों का समूह है जिन्होंने शिक्षा प्रणाली के जमीनी विकास के लिए अपना जीवन समर्पित किया है।

प्रकृति खुद को संतुलित करती है और कहानी उसी के आसपास चलती है। जिस तरह से प्रकृति की प्रणाली को बनाए रखने के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है वह स्वयं टिकाऊ है। यह नकारात्मक और सकारात्मक के बारे में है। पूरा ब्रह्मांड इस अवधारणा के साथ काम कर रहा है फिर शिक्षा को क्यों नहीं बख्शा जाएगा?

National Design Policy aspires to make India a design sourcing hub in near future. One of it’s main objectives is to work towards quality design education. And DAD- Design Awareness Drive is all set to work towards execution of the mission planned by National Design Policy, India.

Education always have had been run by two sections of the society. One that belongs to business group who have left no stone unturned to sell each and every bits and pieces of the systems. And the other is the set of people who have dedicated their lives for grass root development of education system.

Nature balances itself and the story runs around the same. The way the system of nature has been designed to keep is self sustainable. It is about negatives and positives. The whole universe has been is dealing with the concept then why would education be spared?

“Anand Kumar, a Mathematics genius from a modest family in Bihar who was made to believe that only a King’s son can become a king. He goes out on a mission to prove that even the poor man can create some of the world’s most genius minds. It is a super 30 of Design and Fashion. It mentors and guides the Design aspirants to realize their dreams. Design is an education that needs a individual approach and very one to one guidance. So it is not possible to deal with 30 students. So it was supposed to be 10. The concept of DREAM 11 has been derived from the number 11 that is mythologically known to be lucky and sacred. Moreover the name has a strong connection with youth.

“We are in search of 11 passionate Design Aspirants who are committed to Design their own career in fields of Design and Fashion. The selection process is a paper based test, followed by Psychometric Test and PI”

DREAM 11 gives priority to the aspirants who are economically not very sound. This does not mean that aspirants who are economically sound and passionate shall not be given the chance. It makes sure that no passionate aspirant is left behind. The test is open to all the candidates from across the nation. Aspirants can join any of the mode of test which shall be open for next one month.

क्या हम जानते है, “शिल्प गुरु” कौन है?

कुछ महीने पहले 26 जनवरी को भारत सरकार के द्वार राष्ट्रीय सम्मान समारोह हुआ था। उसमे एक नाम उभर कर आया, गोदावरी दत्ता। शायद आप, अभी भी नही समझ पाए होंगे की हम किस की बात कर रहे है। एक ऐसी महान व्यक्तित्व जिन्होंने 83 वर्षो तक अथक प्रयास कर के अपने क्षेत्रीय कला को एक नया आयाम एवं अलग पहचान दिलाया है। हमने मिथिला कला के बारे में बहुत सुना एवं पढ़ा होगा, कुछ लोगो ने इस कला को देखा भी होगा । मिथिला कला एक पारंपरिक कला है, जो एक पीढ़ी दर पीढ़ी चली आ रही है । ये मुख्यतः माँ अपनी बेटियों को एक परंपरा के रूप में सिखाती है। इसकी उत्पति बिहार के मिथिला में हुआ था, अब ये मिथिला और मधुबनी की पहचान बन चुकी है. आज कल ये मधुबनी पेंटिंग के नाम से चलन में है ।

गोदावरी जी ने अपने अद्भुत कला के ज्ञान से आज मिथिला कला को पुरे विश्व में एक अलग सम्मान दिलाया है, जिससे पूरे भारत-वर्ष का सम्मान बढ़ा है। उनको ये कला उनकी माँ सुभद्रा देवी से विरासत में मिली। कला के प्रति लगाव और जुनून को देखते हुए 1960 में राष्ट्रीय सम्मान से सम्मानित किया गया तथा 2006 में उनके कला प्रतिभा को देखते हुए उनको “शिल्प गुरु” के नाम से संबोधित किया गया था। कला उत्थान के क्षेत्र में उनके योगदान लिए उन्हें पद्मश्री सम्मान से सम्मानित किया गया।

एक वाक्य है “Have patience and faith and keep doing the right thing...” ये वाक्य गोदावरी जी के चरित्र को बताता है। ये सफर उनके लिए लिए आसान नही था, एक मध्यम वर्ग में जन्मी लेकिन अपने माँ से मिली ज्ञान और अपने दृढ संकल्प से जीवन के सारे कठिन पड़ाव पार करते हुए आज "शिल्प गुरु" के नाम से जानी जाती है. DAD गोदावरी जी की ज्ञान रूपी तपस्या, इच्छा शक्ति एवं दृढ़ निश्चय के लिए उन्हे नमन करती है। "जय हिन्द"

Why DAD?

In a world driven by the fast-changing scenarios, it is only innovation and creative thought process that can help us survive. The world is based on the constant equation of demand and supply and we here are dedicated to simplifying the equation by design thinking process. To initiate the league, DAD- Design Awareness Drive is all set to incept DAD Think Labs in schools and institutions that shall serve as innovation centers and ‘Design Think Tanks’. The concept of DAD is based on the objectives of ‘National Design Policy, Govt. of India’.

Design Awareness Drive has launched one of the country’s largest design research center ‘DAD Think Labs’ in Patna on Wednesday, 10th of April 2019. The grand opening ceremony of ‘DAD Think Labs’ was inaugurated by Shri Anjani Kumar Singh (Ex-Chief secretary Govt. of Bihar, present senior advisor, CM Bihar) & Poornima Shekhar Singh (Vice principal A.N. College).

The grand inauguration commenced by the arrival of various dignitaries from Patna. The show was initiated with the welcoming speech by Mr. Suraj Kumar a design researcher, social entrepreneur, Co-Founder of DAD. Suraj believes that DAD Think Labs enables the young and fresh minds to connect with their own ideas, revise, rehearse and present it to the outer world. He also stated the DAD Think labs are here to empower society through innovative design awareness ecosystems for a design-led, global economy. He quoted that India very soon is going to be an international design hub, according to NAtional design policy, Govt. of India.

The chief guest praised the entire event a lot. He guided with his inspirational words and inspired to do better. The Chief Guest spoke about design and its connection with nature. He stated the beauty of nature is all due to a medley of design in it. The trees, flowers are all colorful and designed differently. The flora is designed differently from the fauna. He also stated that design seeks to attract, create desire and motivate people to respond to messages with a view to make an impact. He continued …Signage can be an essential component of Business’s overall marketing strategy. The designing of the Patna museum was a costly affair. The museum’s architecture is an innovation in architectural design. It took a lot of efforts and money to design the fixtures and signage for the museum. He finally concluded by saying that design has lots of scope in a state like Bihar.

Mr. Mukesh Kumar shared a presentation on Trapigo and delivered the various success stories. Five people laid the foundation of Trapigo with the help of innovation. Students of IIM Ahmedabad, IIT, NID and NIFT Delhi made an idea. This was to remove the flaws of Indian Railway. Suraj, Mukesh Udit, Suyash, and Lalit laid the foundation of Trapigo. Trapigo is the last mile ‘Business to Business’ logistics service provider for food products and other critical amenities such as medicines, travel, kits, handicrafts, etc. He explained further Trapigo is unique as it has specialized the technology to deliver articles to the traveling customers (moving on trains) apart from the usual static ones. Trapigo plans to cater all the key tier 1 and tier 2 cities in India and expand our services to locations of strategic importance to our customers.

They provide highly automated app-based services with the real-time order status, location tracking features and a live performance dashboard. Trapigo partners with vendors to add value in terms of business development and analytics.

The event also witnessed the famous trio siblings Puja, Pawan, and Sneha who are the innovators and creators of Artkala. The trio delivered a presentation on how artkala was established and their journey of making YouTube videos. The best part of the channel is that they transform the old and useless waste materials into a daily need for useful materials. They upload a new video every day. Every DIY tutorial is very easy and simple to follow, perfect for the novice, explained step by step and achievable at home.

It was followed by the presentation of the momento by the IIM Alumnus and entrepreneur Mr. Mukesh Kumar. The momento was handcrafted portraying the ethos of Indian Design using Lota which is a special mention in the ‘India Report’ drafted by Govt. of India in 1958. India Report is the foundation of India design education.

The design was in the air and everyone sat glued to the show. Many more dignitaries were present in the event. Design professional as well as socially active persuasive enhanced the exquisiteness of the show. The event was a huge hit.

“Bihar-sources of inspiration for fashion designers” There is much more to know about the Indian state Bihar rather than its unique dialect and the famous politician Lalu Prasad Yadav. The 3 main regions converging the state are Magadh, Mithila, and Bhojpur, while Patna being its capital known as Patliputra, the historical capital of Indian subcontinent.

On 22nd March every year Bihar Diwas (Bihar Day) is observed meaning the formation of this state, observed as a  public holiday. On this very occasion let me enlighten you with some interesting facts of the state which also amazingly connect us with Design and sources of inspiration for fashion designers.

Who doesn’t know Ashok Stambh-The National Emblem of India?

Ashok Stambh is a huge source of inspiration which in itself is inspired by four Asiatic Lions standing back to back representing power, courage, confidence, and pride accompanied with a horse, a bull, and an elephant. The horse represents Buddha’s horse which he rode at the time of leaving the palace to discover the meaning of Life. The bull represents Buddha’s zodiac sign Taurus. The elephant signifies the Buddha’s conception (at the time of Buddha’s conception his mother dreamt that a white elephant has entered into her womb). The lion signifies the achievement of enlightenment. Designed with Sandstone, constructed as a pillar Ashok Stambh carries a chakra which probably was then seen as a Wheel of Law. And in the modern world, the chakra serves as the centerpiece of the Indian national flag depicting consistent growth and development.

A university designed in approx 14 hectares of land, a storehouse of knowledge and UNESCO’s world heritage that took 3 full months to burn into ashes is a brawny example of Bihar’s architectural design. The architecture of one of the first universities in the world, ‘Nalanda University’ had one of the biggest libraries in the world. University had 10 temples, many classrooms, and a meditation center. The excavation revealed a row of monasteries of traditional Indian design – oblong brick structures with cells opening onto 4 sides of a courtyard with the main entrance on one side of a shrine facing the entrance across the courtyard. A beautifully curated architecture used red bricks generating a royal aesthetic appeal not in itself but the atmosphere and surroundings. It was a perfect amalgamation of all the design elements that even today stand in advocacy of the zeitgeist of ancient India. The management and research methodologies then followed are the best examples of modern day Design Thinking process which sources of inspiration for fashion designers.

The oldest temple of Hindus ‘Mundeshwari Devi’ dedicating Lord Shiva of his wife Shakti is also in Bihar. It gave a brand new style to the Architectural Design Industry that is Nagara style. This style of the temple was the earliest specimen of  Bihar. It consists of pyramid-shaped towers constructed of sandstone, seaplane or granite.

The state also holds significance because of its ancient monuments and Mughal emperor Sher Shah Suri, the Maner Sharif, Mahabodhi temple, Bodhgaya etc have magnificent architecture. India’s highest stupa ‘Kesaria Stup’ with a height of 32 m is also a contribution towards the architecture world.

The world famous Madhubani or Mithila painting is also a wonderful work of design that implies the depiction of natural motifs and themes of Hindu deities like Krishna, Rama, Shiva Durga etc has been originated in Bihar. Products designed with using Madhubani paintings have been ruling the international markets with their originality and aesthetic aura.

The creative Tikuli Art is also a great example of Design. Pieces of handwork are cut in various shapes to create brilliant art pieces and several other functional products for daily use.

The most important festival of Bihar, Chhat puja serves as a great exhibition of culture, traditional design and a classic example of Culinary Design. A festival devoted to Lord Surya (Sun) and Chhati Maiya is a peaceful trademark of religion with cognitive connections. The dressing, the accessories  (puja samagri) and the decoration gives a new of power to boost the design. On the day of puja women wear saree along with a unique deep shrek of vermilion from nose to the and of hair split and men wear kurta of dhoti both in saffron color avoiding leather in any form. The pooja samagris are very comfortable and distinctive. Apart from the traditional Design, Bihar’s women have also given a new form of dressing on the design fashion industry that is `seedha aanchal saree”. The traditional styling and looks have been used in making up several models for national and international fashion shows.

Modern Museum of Bihar uses design in a comprehensive manner which is seen as the grand sweep of history in the building. The values have been enhanced by manicured gardens and strategically placed elements serving as an interior design which advocates modern facilities such as climate control systems and security for the valuable artifacts inside. The spatial design has been dramatically used delivering asymmetrical structure developed using steel and large glass walls allowing to play natural lights and shade inside. The museum also has an amphitheater a state-of-the-art auditorium, a cafeteria called pot Belly that serves Bihar cuisine and several souvenir shops. There is also a children’s museum with interactive screens that take children on a trip to the wildlife sanctuaries of Bihar and inform them about other interesting nuggets of history from the state. It has transformed the concepts of communication design into physical reality.

Bihar state is a diverse land of creativity, innovation, tradition, art, culture & colors connecting it holistically to design and good sources of inspiration for fashion designers.

Holi is an inspiration to the global Design and Fashion industry

While the Design and Fashion industry is busy researching for the colors of the next season, kids on the Indian roads spray the Pantone chips. Holi is a candid process of generating new colors everywhere and with new ways.

India is the land of festivals and Holi is one of these festivals celebrated in spring season. It has also spread  to other areas of Asia and parts of the Western world through the diaspora from the Indian subcontinent. It is the festival of colors and the festival of love which announces the triumph of the good over evil. It is also celebrated as a thanksgiving for a good harvest. It lasts for a night and a day, where people smear each other with colours and drench each other. It also involves spraying powder colour over each other for which a set of white kurta and leggings are worn by women and a set of white kurta and pyjama by men. Colour white symbolises peace of mind and chaste mind. As holi is a symbol of wiping all negativity within us, so what is better than white.

Holi essentially connects us with design through colours. Now you must be thinking how, so let me tell you that colours are one of the elements of design. Have you ever wondered why red colours incites fear while black signifies evil on our culture. Well this is because of the color theory different colors create different moods within us. Red, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue and Pink these are the prominent colors of Holi each meaning something special in the Indian Holi psyche.

Hence India  perceives design on the form of fashion and colors very impressively. For worship of God or Goddess, for any festival celebration, for a wedding, for a birthday celebration, for a baby shower, for a funeral and even for receiving gifts, design in form of colors, lines, shapes, sizes, patterns, spaces, make an  important and meaningful stand.

India is the ‘Janani’ (mother) of design. The art and culture here reflects almost all the elements and principle of design appositely. And one of the most attractive example reflecting this is Indian fashion. Clothing in India not only changes depending on the climate but also depending on cultural tradition and festival of the people of each region, one of the most beautiful deep definition of fashion and design is the ‘Solah Shringaar’ of an Indian woman. Each ‘Shringaar’ on the body from top to bottom declare the power of design. The clothing here  encompasses the wide variety of Indian embroidery, prints, handwork and embellishment styles of wearing clothes. A wide mix of Indian traditional clothing and western style can be seen. The way each color symbolizes its meaning in the Indian attire, the same way each Indian attire symbolizes its meaning in the Indian psyche giving design a new perspective.

इस धरती पर कदम रखते ही समाज से हमने बहुत कुछ लिया है, पर अब समय है कि अपने आप से एक सवाल पूछें कि हमने समाज को दिया क्या है ?

तो आइए, इसी सवाल का जवाब दे पाने के लिए हम अपने शख्सियत को और मजबूत करते हैं और एक ऐसे समुदाय का निर्माण करते हैं जहां से हम लोग एकजुट होकर इन सवालों का जवाब अपने आने वाली पीढ़ियों को देने में सक्षम हों |

समय बदलाव का है तो शिक्षा के तरीके में बदलाव क्यों नहीं ?

कहा जाता है और सच्चाई यही है कि किसी भी देश को आगे बढ़ाने में शिक्षा का सबसे बड़ा योगदान होता है, तो आइए हम अपने शिक्षा व्यवस्था को और मजबूत करते हुए एक ऐसे प्रणाली का निर्माण करते हैं, एक ऐसे नए तरीके का निर्माण करते हैं जहां से हम लोग अपने बच्चों को अपनी दुनिया में खुला छोड़ दें और उनको रचनात्मक आज़ादी दें | जहां से वे अपनी सोच का इस्तेमाल कर अपनी रचनात्मक प्रवृत्ति को और आगे बढ़ाते हुए देश के लिए एक सुनहरे भविष्य का निर्माण कर सकें |

इन्ही जरूरतों को आगे बढ़ाते हुए हम लोगों ने एक ऐसे समुदाय का निर्माण कर लिया है जहां पर डिजाइन एस्पिरेंट्स, डिजाइन एजुकेटर, डिजाइन प्रोफेशनल्स एवं डिजाइन से जुड़े स्टूडेंट्स भी शामिल हैं| डिजाईन एक ऐसी शिक्षा है जिसके बारे में अभी भी अलग-अलग धारणाएँ हैं | इसलिए हम लोग एकजुट होकर डिजाइन शिक्षा को जगह-जगह पहुंचाने और उससे होने वाले फायदे और उनको नहीं समझ पाने से होने वाले घाटे के बारे में लोगों को बताते हैं | इस डिज़ाइन जागरूकता अभियान के तहत हम बच्चों तक अलग-अलग माध्यम से पहुंचने के लिए प्रयासरत हैं | इस जागरूकता अभियान के तहत हम लोगों से घर-घर जाकर मिलते हैं और उनको डिजाइन से जुड़े हर जरूरी तथ्यों को बताते हैं| डिजाइन, विगत वर्षों में एक अच्छा करियर ऑप्शन बनकर उभरा है | अब आज वक्त है कि लोगों को डिज़ाइन के सही मायने बताए जाए और अगर कोई इसको अपना करियर बनाना चाहता है, उसको डिज़ाइन समुदाय में जोड़ा जाए|
